Business Challenge

Facing a tight deadline to move their enterprise workloads out of a closing data center, the Bauer Hockey IT team found themselves with an opportunity to modernize the delivery of SAP and enterprise applications. The team sought the flexibility and availability of the cloud, and required a trusted partner to assess, design, migrate and manage their SAP and non-SAP workloads on the cloud in eight months.

Owing to a strong reputation and exceptional references, AWS was selected as the cloud along with advanced tier AWS APN partner Protera to migrate and manage all workloads, as well as include a disaster recovery solution with annual testing.

Business Solution

Along with the mission critical workloads, SAP ECC, BW on HANA, SAP R/3 and SAP BPC, Bauer Hockey had a variety of industry specific applications and utility servers to be architected for the cloud. Protera collaborated in a multi-partner environment as the master migration project management team to deliver the migration ahead of schedule.

“During the migration, the Protera project management and PO group had the level of cloud expertise and resources available to step up and deliver go-live two months ahead of schedule,” says Cathie Paradee, Director of IT at Bauer Hockey.
